The euro has been the best performing major currency during Asian and early European trading today. Minor losses in the USD and expectations that the ECB will position itself more hawkish in the upcoming weeks supported the single currency today. Investors are waiting for more clues about the ECB monetary policy at a highly anticipated speech from ECB president Lagarde. I don't expect surprises and believe that Lagarde will only reiterate that tapering should begin in the upcoming year without providing clear guidance. The ECB seems to wait for guidance from the Fed, which I believe will start tapering emergency stimulus measures in November. One important step towards this are today's important jobs data (NFP at 12:30 GMT). I don't think that they are high hurdles for the Fed to start tapering, which means unless the NFPs completely negatively surprise, the Fed will feel comfortable announcing its tapering plan. After German industrial data, also German export data came in below expectations also slightly weighing on the EUR. I still see the EUR/USD testing the 1.15000 support in the upcoming days and be on track to fall further towards 1.14000 before November.

The Nasdaq saw another dip-buying wave, and another correction pushing our third SHORT position again in profit. We once again hit almost the perfect timing. However, big tech stabilized now which limits the downside potential. We set our (optional) TP thus a bit higher.

Further (short-term) falling oil & gas prices, as well as US Treasury yields finding resistance and still being negative for the day 1 hour after NYSE opening started a second dip buying wave that pushed the Nasdaq almost back to yesterday's closing rate. The market (or rather market participants) is bleeding very badly and has stepped into the trap again. Dip buying led to FOMO (fear-of-missing-out) and then to a hard correction which ended in massive losses for traders. We actually could have traded it even better as we predicted this movement exactly as it happened. However, our Nasdaq 100 - re-entry was perfect. The strong sell-off unfortunately also affects GM currently - we wait the selling for now to re-enter. Open / Comment

Similar to yesterday and as we expected Wall Street was once again able to rebound in early US trading, supported by a slight correction in US Treasury yields and positive ADP data. Once again investors buy the dip as they think the overnight sell-off went too far. October lives up to its reputation so far being the most volatile month of the year. We position us SHORT again. US Treasury yields already stabilize and will likely move higher again as strong labor data also increases the chance of the Fed to tighten its monetary policy. Markets are also currently supported by lower energy prices (oil & gas), which, however, were also partially triggered by a stronger USD. Oil and gas prices remain bullish.

I was surprised how many of my trading colleagues traded the (PREMIUM ONLY) LONG yesterday in anticipation of (PREMIUM ONLY). It is the USD that takes center stage again today (and for the rest of the week). Investors are waiting for US employment data (today ADP employment change 12:15 GMT, tomorrow initial jobless claims and on Friday the important nonfarm payroll) for more clues on the timing of Fed policy tightening. More importantly for the current dynamic, however, is the very weak performance of global markets that already pushed the Dow Jones a rare 500 points down in after-hours trading. Concerns about the global growth remain very much alive. Treasury yields rose another 2 basis points today, pushing the US 10-y Treasury yield back to ~1.55% with rising expectations that the Fed will tighten it's monetary policy. A (PREMIUM ONLY) will weigh on the (PREMIUM ONLY) and (PREMIUM ONLY) today. The (PREMIUM ONLY) are also hit by news that Chinese property developer, Fantasia, has also failed to repay $205 million of bonds, suggesting concerns extend well beyond China Evergrande.
