Hello everyone! We have a couple of very exciting announcements to share with the community:

1. The first Borrower Pool involving Backers will be provide financing to Almavest. This pool will be open to everyone outside of the US. Due diligence will start today, and the the pool will be open for funding next week. 2. We are setting up our very first community call featuring Mike and Blake! The call will start around 9:30 AM US Pacific time this Wednesday (Aug 25) and will probably run about 40 minutes. The first 20 minutes will provide a quick intro to the protocol and a status update, and the second 20 minutes will focus more on questions from the community. We are very excited to announce that Almavest (https://www.almavest.com/) has just drawn down another credit line from the protocol. This brings the total amount deployed to date to $5.2M. With the capital from the Goldfinch protocol, Almavest is providing credit facilities to the companies listed below. This extends the reach of the Goldfinch protocol to India and East Africa.

Selfin (https://selfinindia.com/) - is a licensed lender that gives small, medium-term loans to MSMEs in India through an online+offline model.

Upwards (https://upwards.in/) - is a licensed lender that offers digital personal loans to low-wage employees in India (who earn ~$300 monthly).

Impact Water (http://www.impactwater.co/) - provides zero-emissions safe drinking water systems to over 30,000 schools in Uganda, Nigeria and Kenya, generating carbon offsets.

Greenway (https://www.greenwayappliances.com/) - is a pioneering Indian firm that makes ‘clean cookstoves’ for low-income households globally, generating carbon offsets. Open / Comment

Borrowers - We've made a lot of progress building out a strong pipeline of new deals. We're on target to close two more transactions this month.

Protocol - We have an audit on Aug 16 that we have been busy getting ready for. We're also continuing to build frontends and prepare for the next release.

2021-07-15 04:10:18 As you might have noticed, the Senior Pool is now open to folks who signed up early for the LP program (before our fundraising announcement on June 16th). This group will continue to get early access to the pool over the next couple days.

We are also very excited to announce that on Friday, the Senior Pool will be opening to a broader community. For this initial funding, the pool will only be open to individuals and entities based outside of the USA who must undergo a KYC check in order to participate. The Senior Pool will have a maximum total capacity of $20M. In order to participate on Friday, you must verify your address in advance here: https://app.goldfinch.finance/verify.

Opening the Senior Pool will allow the protocol to extend more loans to lending businesses in emerging markets. This is a major step in our mission to empower financial inclusion. To date, the protocol has already disbursed $4.5M, now serving tens of thousands of borrowers across 7 countries and 3 continents. We have several exciting new borrowers lined up for the next few months, and the protocol needs additional capital for them. This is an opportunity to be an early supporter of our mission, while also earning an attractive yield on USDC. We will send a reminder email to everyone who is successfully verified on Friday to notify you when the pool is open.

- Reading - If you haven't seen it already, we've published our white paper (https://goldfinch.finance/goldfinch_whitepaper.pdf) and announced a seed funding round with Andreessen Horowitz (https://medium.com/goldfinch-fi/goldfinch-raises-11m-from-andreessen-horowitz-to-build-the-next-phase-of-decentralized-credit-459b08e7653).
- Protocol - We got a great initial audit report back for our first V2 release, with no critical or high bugs found. We’ll be implementing remediations soon. We’re also continuing to build out the front-ends for our V2 system.
- Borrowers - This past week we deployed an additional $2M in loans to a fintech company in Southeast Asia, bringing the total amount disbursed through the protocol to $4.5M!
