2023-04-19 16:20:00 Australia installs more Bitcoin ATMs than whole of Asia

Australia, the country that hosts the third-largest network of Bitcoin ATMs, surpassed the continent of Asia in terms of the total number of crypto ATMs installed.

Since the beginning of 2023, Australia has been on a crypto ATM installation spree, climbing from fifth to third in January alone. Data from Coin ATM Radar confirms that the country has kept up the effort to install avenues for fiat-to-crypto conversions.

2023-04-18 13:23:01 Bank of England preparing for greater role of tokenization in finance, official says

Bank of England deputy governor Sir Jon Cunliffe spoke at the Innovative Finance Global Summit in London on April 17 about the development of tokenization. The UK’s central bank is currently exploring tokenization in bank money, non-bank money and central bank money and the ways tokenized assets will interact.

Stablecoins, Cunliffe said, “offer the possibility of greater efficiency and functionality in payments,” but “it is extremely unlikely that any of the current offerings would meet the standards for robustness and uniformity we currently apply both to commercial bank money and to the existing payment systems.” The central bank is planning to collaborate with the Financial Conduct Authority on regulation after the passage of the Financial Services and Markets Bill.

2023-04-17 14:22:01 BNB Chain issues list of 191 high-risk, untrustworthy DApps and fake tokens

BNB Chain, the blockchain developed by crypto exchange Binance, updated its Red Alarm list to include 191 high-risk projects and decentralized applications (dApps) currently hosted on the blockchain.

BNB Chain’s Red Alarm list — which gets updated every Friday — includes projects and DApps that are deemed risky investments purely based on smart contract assessment. The 191 new projects on BNB Chain that have been added to the list are either suspected of issuing fake tokens, high or opaque tax fees or simply because their websites or Twitter handles don’t work.

“Make sure to review our weekly Red Alarm list to familiarize yourself with suspicious actors on our network,” read BNB Chain’s announcement on the matter.
