2023-03-31 15:21:01 Nifty News: Avalanche launches mentoring initiative, Beeple opens massive new studio and more

- In a March 30 blog post, The Avalanche Foundation announced the launch of Avaissance, an initiative designed to support digital artists and boost the growth of the Avalanche nonfungible token (NFT) ecosystem.

The AIR program will provide artists “of any skill level” with funding, mentorship and virtual workshops for six months. The MLI will collaborate with DAOs’ curatorial teams to promote emerging Avalanche NFT artists and establish an “Avalanche Permanent Collection.”

- According to Beeple’s website, he will use the space to create his artwork and host events to “showcase the very best art and communities.”

“We are looking to partner with the most cutting-edge artists and communities to put on events that are not possible at any other venue,” the website stated.

The U.K. government has confirmed that it is not proceeding with a plan to launch a non-fungible token (NFT). British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak asked the Royal Mint to create an “NFT for Britain” while he was serving as the Chancellor of the Exchequer last year as part of his efforts to make the U.K. a global hub for crypto-asset technology and investment.

Sky Mavis, the company behind the popular blockchain game Axie Infinity, revealed that four gaming studios would be building and launching games on top of the Ronin network, sparking the creation of its own native gaming ecosystem.

In an announcement sent to Cointelegraph, Sky Mavis highlighted that they partnered with four gaming studios: Directive Games, Tribes, Bali Games and Bowled .io. In addition, the team also announced the Ronin blockchain’s shift into a delegated proof-of-stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism.
