A New York City office building went on sale for $29 million two weeks ago, but with a Web 3 twist: The rights to purchase the property are being sold as a non-fungible token (NFT) on OpenSea.The listing’s price, however, was set in ether (ETH), which has plummeted over 40% since the start of June, taking the list price of the building with it.

The dollar value of the NFT has dropped from $29 million to $16.8 million, though its owner, Chris Okada, says the price will soon be adjusted. “We’re going to relist the sale at $29.5 million, most probably Thursday,” Okada told CoinDesk in a Twitter message on Tuesday. “Deciding on staying with ETH or going to USDC. If we go with ETH it’ll be closer to 26,500 ETH.” It’s currently listed for 15,000 ETH. It was purchased for $16.25 million in late 2021.

Telecommunications giant Bharti Airtel on Tuesday (June 14) unveiled the country’s first Metaverse multiplex on the PartyNite Metaverse platform. Called Xstream multiplex, the 20-screen platform will be an extension of Airtel’s Xstream Premium offering. The platform will leverage Airtel’s content library and will offer multiple layers of engagement which will allow users to interact on the PartyNite Metaverse.

The company said that the idea was conceptualised by media agency Essence and developed by Gamitronics, the parent company of PartyNite. “We all know people’s love for movies and entertainment in India. Through the metaverse, we are looking to tap into a larger audience, giving content enthusiasts an opportunity to sample Airtel’s Xstream Premium offering and, thus, aiding in driving higher adoption”, Airtel’s director of marketing Shashwat Sharma said on the launch.

The cloud computing division of e-commerce giant Alibaba Group has launched new services for NFT platforms based outside of mainland China. The features Alibaba Cloud will provide include web hosting, digital marketing, and content delivery, according to reports in the SCMP (owned by Alibaba) on June 9.

According to an Alibaba spokeswoman, NFT and Metaverse services are now listed on Alibaba Cloud’s international website. The company recently launched Metaverse-related products, including remote 3D rendering, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and blockchain-as-a-service (BaaS). Alibaba affiliates Ant Group and Tencent Holdings had to rename their NFT platforms last year to “digital collectibles,” potentially for the same reason.

Actor Seth Green has been reunited with the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT he lost in a phishing attack last month, according to a BuzzFeed News report. Green reportedly paid 165 Ether (more than $295,000 at current prices) for the NFT, after it was sold on to a collector.

In total, four of Green's NFTs worth more than $300,000 were stolen last month, including Bored Ape NFT #8398, which not only cost him some $200,000 to purchase, but was also meant to be the star of Green’s upcoming TV show "White Horse Tavern.". At present, NFT marketplace OpenSea has left a flag reporting Bored Ape #8398 for “suspicious activity” active, meaning that the NFT is frozen and can't be bought or sold on the marketplace; hence why Green turned to NFT Trader in order to conduct the transaction with DarkWing84.
