Amid Sky Mavis beginning to roll out various relief programs off the back of its $600+ million Ronin Bridge breach, news regarding the culprits behind the attack has now come to light. Those in ownership of the uncovered information is The U.S. Treasury Department, who, after communications with the FBI, are alleging that North Korean hacking group ‘Lazarus’ are the guilty party.

The news began coming to surface when The Treasury Department added an Ethereum wallet to its sanctions list on Thursday 14th April, with blockchain analytics platform Nansen labeling the address as ‘Ronin Bridge Exploiter’.

Tom Brady NFT vehicle, Autograph, has inked a new deal with American motor racing giant, Penske Entertainment, paving the way for a range of non-fungible tokens based on its intellectual property.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has filed a patent application for a laundry list of items it wishes to make into “virtual consumer merchandise.” Among the 37 items that could become NFTs are game tickets, collectibles and player autographs.

The wide array of virtual items is paving the way for the league to enter the Metaverse, as it appears applications for everything but the playing surface have been submitted.

Serenade, an NFT marketplace for collecting music-related digital collectibles, has raised $6 million in a recent investment round. Based out of Sydney, Australia, it was apt that the most notable contributor of the round was no other than fellow countryman and A-list actor, Hugh Jackman.

Launched in 2021, the Serenade platform allows music fans to purchase a variety of NFTs, such as digital artwork, digitally signed albums, or one copy of a song released via Serenade exclusively. In a recent announcement, Meta revealed that it would allow its creators to monetize virtual content via the platform. Therefore, providing additional revenue through the trade of in-game items, wearables, experiences, unlockable content and visual effects.

All this extra opportunity comes at a premium however, as Meta plans to take hefty share of the pie. Essentially, creators will face an initial ‘platform fee’ from the app on which it resides. Then, Meta themselves will take a massive 25% of whatever’s left over. So, for example, a purchase via the Meta-owned Quest store would be subject to a 30% platform charge. Following which, Meta would take an extra 25% of what’s left, leaving the creator with a little over half of the funds.
