OpenSea Launches OpenSea Pro, Courting Professional NFT Traders

As part of the launch, marketplace fees will return to the main OpenSea platform at 2.5%, while Pro users will have zero fees.
Leading non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace OpenSea said Tuesday it’s rolling out OpenSea Pro, a marketplace with advanced features targeting the growing market of professional NFT traders that has helped rival NFT marketplace Blur surge since its launch.
The new product is a rebrand of Gem v2, which is the newest version of Gem’s NFT aggregation platform. OpenSea acquired Gem in April 2022, with plans to bring its professional trading tools to OpenSea users.
OpenSea Pro will operate with 0% fees and pull listings across 170 marketplaces to provide the best deals for traders. It will support advanced “floor sweeping” for traders, instant sales, inventory management, the ability to optimize gas fees for efficient trades, a watchlist feature and more. It will also be available on mobile devices.

Just-In: Amazon NFT Marketplace To Reportedly Launch Next Month

Tech giant Amazon to reportedly launch its NFT marketplace next month, with 15 NFT collections already available from the launch date.

According to sources, Amazon plans to launch the “Amazon Digital Marketplace” on April 24. The platform will start offering the service to U.S. customers first and will gradually roll out to other countries.

According to the source, Amazon will start offering about 15 NFT collections on the launch day itself. Moreover, the NFT collections will be available on Amazon’s website and can be seen by clicking the “Amazon Digital Marketplace” tab. NFTs will only be purchased from the Amazon account and through a credit card.

NFT service through the Amazon platform allows people who do not have access to crypto wallets like Metamask to buy NFTs. It claims Amazon was already planning to launch the NFT services since last year. However, the launch was delayed following the collapse of FTX.

The Thucydides Trap In The NFT Market: OpenSea Counterattacks And Starts A Fee War
The Thucydides Trap, proposed by Graham Allison, a professor at Harvard University, means that a newly rising power must challenge the existing power, and the existing power must respond to this threat so that war becomes inevitable. Now, the Thucydides trap has happened to the two giants of the NFT market, OpenSea, and Blur.
On February 15, Blur’s native token BLUR was launched for trading, and the transaction volume exceeded $1 billion in less than 24 hours. Perhaps taking advantage of this strong momentum, Blur began to confront OpenSea in a new chapter of the NFT royalty war.

On February 16, one day after the BLUR token was launched, Blur issued an official announcement announcing the update of the royalty policy, which straightforwardly recommends that users block OpenSea; as long as they do not use OpenSea, they can enjoy full royalties.
