Internet Game, a project that has described itself as 'HQ Trivia meets NFTs,' has raised $7 million in a seed funding round. Investors in the seed round include HQ Trivia co-founder Rus Yusupov, ParaFi Capital, Dragonfly Capital, Dephi Digital, Uniswap Ventures, Collab+Currency, Gmoney, Milk Road, Ready Player DAO and Zedd, co-founder of Magic Eden. The project reinvents HQ Trivia as Internet Game, a crypto-based twist on the original model, the company told The Block. The first season launched in March with 8,000 players minting $2.2 million worth of NFTs to gain access to the game.

Attorneys for an artist alleged to have sold fake Bored Ape Yatch Club nonfungible tokens could face a $1,500 sanction for “repeated violations” of a Los Angeles federal court’s standing order, US District Judge John F. Walter said Thursday. Walter also struck conceptual artist Ryder Ripp’s Anti-Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation motion. The judge’s order said the defendants will have until Sept. 6 to explain in writing why “lead counsel should not be sanctioned.” Louis W. Tompros of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr LLP, who represents Ripps, said in a statement to Bloomberg Law that he will respond to the order by the court’s deadline.

As VentureBeat defines it, the industrial metaverse can transform the way every physical asset — such as a building, plane, robot, or car — is created, assembled, and operated. The industrial metaverse marries the “real world” with technology such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, cloud computing, edge computing, the internet of things (IoT), 5G, and extended reality (virtual, augmented, and mixed reality).
