BitTorrent [New]

About BitTorrent [New]

BitTorrent [New] (BTT) is the token of the TRON-based BitTorrent ecosystem, built around the long-running peer-to-peer file-sharing network of the same name. CoinMarketCap groups it under Filesharing, Distributed Computing, Storage and the TRON ecosystem tags, and the project's own site, bt.io, now presents a related product called BitTorrent Chain, a proof-of-stake network for low-cost Web3 applications built on top of that history.

The project's CoinMarketCap profile lists the chat @BTTBitTorrent, whose Telegram page speaks in the project's voice about linking the peer-to-peer network to TRON, though the catalog has not separately verified that page as team-run. What the catalog has verified by hand is a Russian-language community channel, BitTorrent BTT RU (@bttbittorrentru), with roughly 1,100 participants as of 26.09.2026; it is a fan-run mirror of the same announcements rather than a team channel.

The channel is confirmed by the catalog's own manual review, and its handle is not listed on the project's CoinMarketCap page separately. Because the BTT name is common on Telegram, users are better off finding a channel through the project's site or CoinMarketCap listing than by searching Telegram directly.
