Sonic is an EVM-compatible layer-1 blockchain that grew out of the earlier Fantom network; its website reports very high transaction throughput and instant finality, and CoinMarketCap tags the token under Layer 1, Staking and Sonic Ecosystem, among others.
The project's own profile on CoinMarketCap lists the chat Sonic Community (@Sonic_English), a verified channel with a much larger membership, in its chat field. Our catalog's editors have instead manually confirmed two channels carried over from the Fantom era: Sonic Announcements, prev. Fantom (@fantomfoundation), with about 204 subscribers, and Sonic Community, prev Fantom (@fantom_english), with about 2.4 thousand subscribers, both as of 26.09.2026, and both explicitly describing the migration from Fantom's FTM token to Sonic's S token.
These two channels were confirmed through manual review by the catalog's editors. Given the network's rename history, it is worth verifying any Sonic-related link through the project's own website or its CoinMarketCap page rather than trusting a channel name alone.
