2022-04-27 12:07:02 Nike, RTFKT launch CryptoKicks NFT customizable sneaker collection

On Friday, digital fashion brand RTFKT Studios revealed Nike CryptoKicks, a new collection of customizable non-fungible token (NFT) sneakers. This was RTFKT’s first big sneaker release since Nike acquired it in December.

A distinctive aspect of the collection is the shoe, the RTFKT Nike.Genesis, is separate from the ‘skins’ that change the look and coloring, which for now are created by well-known designers. RTFKT plans to enable other creators and influencers to release their own Nike CryptoKicks skins in the future.Access to the digital sneakers and skins has been restricted to owners of RTFKT’s Monolith NFT, a token that represents 12,950 pieces of the Monolith.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson and Jawad Ashraf, Terra Virtua CEO, are set to hold discussions about Cardano and Terra Virtua's collaboration and future plans on April 25 at 5:30 p.m. UTC.The Cardano (ADA) network has reached several milestones in recent months, and the number of ADA wallets has increased by 100,000 within a month.

Terra Virtua, a digital collectibles platform, boasts of an NFT marketplace and also a studio for games with NFT characters; thus, the partnership might present endless NFT possibilities for Cardano.IOHK, Cardano's parent company also shared a reminder on the Cardano Summit NFTs by sharing Terra Virtua's post on Twitter and noting the date of the event.

OpenSea has acquired NFT aggregator service Gem, The Block has learned.

News of the deal was revealed in an email sent to Gem investors and seen by The Block.

Gem lets you buy and sell NFTs across multiple marketplaces and makes it easier to sweep the floor of an NFT collection (that is buy a range of the lower end of the collection). Following the acquisition, Gem will continue to operate as a standalone brand.

Floyd Mayweather has released the world's first NFT that will give its holders access to a pay-per-view event.The show is set to take place at the helipad on top of the Burj Al Arab in Dubai. To make it a bit more interesting, the organizers have now released an NFT that will give its holders pay-per-view access to the event.

'Money' will be returning to the boxing ring on May 14 to take on former pro-boxer Don Moore in an exhibition bout. The event, billed as Global Titans Dubai, will also include exhibition bouts from the likes of Badou Jack and UFC legend Anderson Silva.Mayweather recently took to Twitter to announce the same and wrote:"A historic moment for sports! Fidelity Investments, a major financial services firm with $11.3 trillion in assets under administration, has entered the metaverse with the opening of an eight-story learning center and the launch of a metaverse exchange-traded fund.

Fidelity Investments announced Thursday the grand opening of "The Fidelity Stack," which the brokerage firm described as its "First immersive metaverse experience aimed at offering a new way to learn investing basics." Fidelity is one of the largest financial services firms; it currently has $11.3 trillion in assets under administration.The Fidelity Stack is an eight-story building in the metaverse where visitors can learn about different ways of investing.

The celebrity-backed “mafia-themed” metaverse will reportedly be spearheading the first Grow-and-Earn feature “through a vast array of utilities for business buildings and land.”
