Star Atlas, a metaverse MMO game, is set to release updates in 2023, including R2.1 and R2.2 of the Showroom. These updates will feature improved user experience, bug fixes, and the integration of a web-based Galactic Marketplace. Star Atlas also plans to introduce new flyable ships and a ground racing game with competitive multiplayer, as well as the addition of jetpacks. Additionally, they aim to release R3 towards the end of the year, which will focus on PVP features, on-chain rewards, and the construction of a Warp Gate.

The second Ethereum test network, Sepolia, has successfully replicated staked ether (ETH) withdrawals, bringing the blockchain closer to the highly anticipated Shanghai Upgrade, which will mark Ethereum's full transition to a proof-of-stake network. This will enable validators to withdraw rewards earned from adding or approving blocks to the blockchain. Sepolia is the second of three testnets to run through such a simulation before the upgrade goes live, and there is one more test on the Goerli testnet planned. Sepolia is the smallest of the three testnets, and only Ethereum core developers run validators on it.

Ras Al Khaimah, one of the seven Emirates of the UAE, is launching a free zone for digital and virtual asset companies called RAK Digital Assets Oasis (RAK DAO). The free zone will be dedicated to emerging technologies such as blockchain, NFTs, DApps, and other Web3-related businesses. RAK DAO aims to attract entrepreneurs and businesses by providing a purpose-built, innovation-enabling free zone for non-regulated activities in the virtual assets sector. The free zone offers a different regulatory framework and tax scheme, allowing entrepreneurs to have 100% ownership of their businesses. The applications for RAK DAO will open in the second quarter of 2023.
