NFT marketplaces use token reward trading strategies to entice traders, boost volume, and appear to be the most successful platforms. A recent report published by blockchain analytics firm Dune revealed that nearly 60% of non-fungible token (NFT).

According to Dune, wash trades started gaining traction in the crypto industry in 2019 but became pertinent to the NFT space in 2022. The analytics firm noted that NFT wash trading is boosted by enticing traders with token rewards due to the high competitiveness of the space and the frequent launch of new platforms. They aim to accumulate token rewards more valuable than the gas fees spent.

International consulting firm Synpulse recently hit an innovation milestone, having organised its first ever global leadership townhall in the metaverse. Hosted in a metaverse ‘land’, the event featured leadership keynotes, an expo hall, dancing on the (meta) beach and virtual fireworks.

The metaverse allows people to create a 3D avatar of themselves that can attend meetings in a virtual space and interact with co-workers’ avatars – in theory, replicating the feeling of being in the same room as their peers. Synpulse’s metaverse event was hosted in the metaverse from Virbela, a virtual world platform built specifically to solve the challenges of remote collaboration.

Mantel Group’s virtual reality (VR) hub was initially delivered as a way to facilitate collaboration between Mantel’s many brands and their teams. It will now also provide a digital shared space, where they can support their clients remotely.

Dan Bradby, Principal at Mantel Group, commented, “There are so many use cases for remote interaction that feels far more personable, and also allows for a greater experience through virtual reality. We have defaulted to chat bots and messaging for customer service due to the convenience during Covid-19, but this reduces the two-way interaction and ease of direction, especially when doing something technical.”

Zhenjiang, a Chinese province, presented its metaverse development plan on Dec. 15, aiming to become one of the biggest metaverse hubs in the country. The plan, which contemplates the integration of several active companies into the metaverse, aims to produce a $28.7 billion metaverse industry by 2025. roadmap to becoming a $52 million metaverse cluster.
