South Korean automotive company Hyundai will be offering its first exclusive Metamobility NFT collection called the Shooting Star.

Hyundai previously announced that it would become the first automaker to build a global NFT community. It collected 100,000 Discord members in a week, selling out the Hyundai x Meta Kongz NFT collection.

The "Shooting Star" will be a 10,000 Ethereum-based NFT collection that will first be available to whitelist buyers on May 9, followed by a general sale on May 10 through its official website.

With the introduction of EIP-1559 last August, taking base fees generated by Ethereum transactions out of circulation by sending them to a defunct wallet resulted in over 55,000 ETH being burnt by the minting process of the Otherside NFTs.

The introduced EIP-1559 burn mechanism was put into place to help the network transition from a PoW to a PoS consensus model.

However, with the ridiculous gas fees due to the insanely congested mainnet from users minting the Otherside NFTs, the network burned over 55,000 ETH, equivalent to more than $157 million on Saturday evening.

Witnessed by the community as the largest NFT mint yet, BAYC's Otherside metaverse NFTs cashed in over $300 million, selling 55,000 NFTs at nearly 305 ApeCoin (APE), equivalent to $5,800 at the time of the sale.

While the Otherdeeds NFT collection sold out almost instantly, it could only be minted using APE under the ETH blockchain. As a result, ETH gas fees have surged dramatically, affecting numerous users to pay anywhere between 2.6 ETH ($6,500) to 5 ETH ($14,000) in gas fees.

However, Yuga Labs, the creator behind BAYC, MAYC, and the Otherside NFTs "Otherdeeds," mentioned that they had envisioned the sale of NFTs in phases while anticipating a momentary rise in gas prices.

On April 30, Solana Foundation acknowledged that validators were pushed out of consensus for unidentified issues. Block production became impossible and the network went offline at 4:32pm EST. By 11:00pm EST, validators restarted the cluster at slot 131973970.

On Saturday, bots swarmed the popular NFT minting tool Candy Machine with an unprecedented tsunami of inbound traffic amounting to four million transaction requests and 100 gigabits of data every second– setting a record for the network.

Due to the outburst, Solana (SOL) crashed to a 24-hour low of $83.13 before climbing back close to $89. Solana developers have yet to diagnose the problem or how the swarming bot attack overcame existing safeguards to stymie consensus.

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team is teaming up with FTX to produce an NFT collection to engage with their fans, collaborating with various artists throughout the 2022 race calendar.

The initial NFTs released are free-to-claim "Ticket Stubs" collectibles. These will feature artwork depicting race tickets. Fans will be able to build a virtual collection of these stubs and can trade them with other F1 enthusiasts.

The companies will also produce rare NFTs that will be sold via auction throughout the year. This campaign will kick off at the 2022 F1 Miami race weekend, during which collectibles featuring the artwork of Mad Dog Jones will be unveiled and auctioned exclusively on the FTX US NFT marketplace. Mercedes' proceeds from these sales will be donated to Ignite, the Team's, and Mission44's joint charitable initiative.

Okay Bears currently have a floor price of 147 SOL with a total sales volume of 490,102.44 SOL.
