You can now use yyAVAX to take out a MONEY stablecoin loan on Moremoney, opening up a host of new yield-bearing strategies for DeFi users on Avalanche.

How to use yyAVAX as collateral?

Swap from any token to yyAVAX on Yak Swap

Head to the Moremoney app: https://app.moremoney.finance/

Select yyAVAX and then select the amount of yyAVAX you’d like to deposit as collateral, and the amount of MONEY you’d like to borrow. Note: we recommend exercising caution when using leverage to avoid liquidation.

You can then use MONEY in either Yield Yak’s MONEY strategy earning 10% APY, or use it in a variety of others ways across the Avalanche ecosystem.

While your yyAVAX is deposited as Collateral, it will continue to earn yield and gain in value versus AVAX.

2022-08-22 17:39:13 Proposal to govern ve tokens; vote in progress for YAK stakers

The proposal puts forward that YAK adopt an additional utility: governance over voting power from ve tokens.

From a technical standpoint, we consider that using YAK to cast votes in underlying systems is the safest and most future-proof approach. We will determine how to proxy votes and avoid governance manipulation just once for YAK instead of many times for every new ve balance we accumulate.

Ultimately, this proposal extends the utility of YAK, aligning governance of the platform to a single token. We expect that platform fees from specific ve tokens will accrue to staked yyTokens and other benefits will accrue to YAK. These variables can be easily tweaked to ensure a healthy ecosystem and allow us to adapt quickly to the changing landscape.
