Today we are thrilled to officially announce our partnership with CAI (Colony Avalanche Index) to help this exciting soon-to-launch Index achieve its full potential.

What is CAI?

Brought to you by Colony and Phuture, and backed by Ava Labs, CAI is the benchmark index for investors wanting to get exposure to the Avalanche ecosystem. It is composed of the native token (AVAX) and the most prominent projects in the ecosystem. The index improves returns for investors by generating yield on the underlying assets. These assets are rigorously selected and weighted to spread the risk and volatility in proportion to their market capitalisation.

How will CAI utilize Yield Yak?

Idle assets can be a large opportunity cost. CAI minimizes that by depositing a portion of each asset into yield bearing vaults on Yield Yak.

At launch, 20% of each asset reserve will be deposited into Yield Yak, increasing gradually over time.

As investors mint and burn CAI, it changes the quantity of assets held by the index, so CAI will periodically refresh the balances it holds on Yield Yak to ensure it is adhering to its target percentage.

As the full yyAVAX liquid staking infrastructure kicks into gear, we’re now able to glimpse at its full potential now that our partners at the Eden Network are generating yield from the AVAX that has been deposited.

Current APR: 7.7%

Yield Yak displays actual rewards and APR which it generates from the P-Chain which secures the Avalanche Network, so this figure may vary from day to day.

Opening Ceremony with a 100K AVAX supply cap has begun.

yyAVAX is bringing high sustainable yields for securing the #Avalanche network as well as instant (low slippage) exits.

APR (~7%) is just warming up as the yield engine furnaces are being stoked .

How to get yyAVAX?
You can mint and redeem yyAVAX directly via Yak Swap which will always get you the best rate. You’ll always be able to track the APR, current price per share, and current yyAVAX supply on the YY liquid staking site.

Yield
In line with our sustainable yield and transparency strategy, the APR is not fixed and will increase as full scope of the yyAVAX yield infrastructure gets going, which includes:

Supporting Subnets. Rewards for this flow to yyAVAX holders, a first of its kind feature.

Yield boosting strategies from our Eden Network partners who run validator nodes

Peg arbitrage gains from the dynamic withdrawal pool go to holders

Future tweaks to staking strategy to increase base APR. Currently all AVAX staked for opening ceremony is the minimum 14 days.

Redemption
You can redeem yyAVAX instantly for AVAX on Yak Swap without having to wait 15 days for unstaking. This lets you keep more of your yield instead of losing it to Swap fees and slippage.

What’s next?
DeFi utility and greater adoption in the ecosystem including distributing AVAX rewards (from fees) to LPs.

What about Fees?
Fees are transparent and simple. 5% of rewards go to Yield Yak to build adoption and will go to build utility. YAK holds governance rights. 5% to the Eden Network for their validator services.

Leveraging our vePTP boost, Platypus WBTC.e and BTC.b pools have now been added to Yield Yak.

Additionally, we have launched an Aave sAVAX farm which repeatedly lends and borrows sAVAX to optimize rewards using low-risk leverage.
