NFT scaling platform Immutable has launched a $500 million ‘Immutable Ventures’ fund dedicated to developing Web3 games and NFT projects. The dedicated pile of cash, which is Immutable’s inaugural development fund, comes just three months after the company raised $200 million in a Series C funding round led by Singaporean investment fund Temasek, which brought its overall valuation to a whopping $2.5 billion.

The top social media platform in China, WeChat, has updated its policies to ban accounts that provide access to crypto or nonfungible token- (NFT)-related services.

Under the new guidelines, accounts involved with the issuance, trading, and financing of crypto and NFTs will be either restricted or banned and will fall under the “illegal business” category.

VERTU Paris has announced the launch of its new cutting-edge ‘VERTU Constellation X Ulm’ smartphone, which can only be acquired through purchasing one of its 10,555 VERU NFTs (VXCP NFTs).

The VXCP NFT collection launched on June 20th, with each costing $5,175 to mint. 1,000 of the NFTs went on sale on Binance NFT marketplace, whilst the remaining 9,555 are available at Galler.io.

Upon making a purchase, NFT holders will have until September 23rd to choose whether they’d like to convert their NFT into a VERTU Constellation X ULM smartphone (to be received no later than February 2023), or whether they’d like to keep their NFT in order to become part of the new VERTU 3.0 Business Club.

Duppies, an upcoming Solana NFT project from the same team as the popular “DeGods” collection, had its Twitter account hacked on Saturday, with attackers tweeting a link to a “stealth mint” of the NFTs.

The link was a phishing website, and users who connected their wallets and attempted to mint had their wallets drained of all funds. One Twitter user wrote they lost 650 Solana (SOL), worth around $18,850, from the attack.

Romania’s National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics (ICI) has announced a new national program which leverages blockchain technology to access, transfer, and store the official documentation of its citizens.

Dubbed ‘Romania’s National System for Issuers and Assets’ (NSIDA), the endeavour has the ultimate goal of improving the proficiency in which essential governmental documentation such as birth certificates, driving licenses and land/property deeds are acquired and managed.

Watchmaker TAG Heuer has partnered with the well-known nonfungible token (NFT) community surrounding Bored Ape Yacht Club and CLONE-X to create a smartwatch that displays NFTs and connects to crypto wallets such as MetaMask and Ledger Live.

The company says that the functionality of the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 will be straightforward, with NFTs being transferred to it via a paired smartphone. The device is set to support static and animated NFT artwork, and multiple NFTs can be transferred to the watch at a time. TAG Heuer stated that NFT artwork can be resized and placed within three available designs within the watch.

In a ploy to reinvent her image, Anna Sorokin (a.k.a Anna Delvey), the protagonist of Netflix’s hit docudrama miniseries ‘Inventing Anna’, has launched an NFT collection in wake of her four year incarceration.

The fake German heiress, who was found guilty of defrauding banks and hotels out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, launched the collection earlier this week whilst being held in an ICE immigration detention centre for overstaying her U.S. visa.

The collection, which adopts the same name as the Netflix series which made her famous, was dropped on its own mint website on Wednesday, and is comprised of 2000 ‘Anna Card’ NFTs which can be picked up for 0.1 ETH apiece.

The United Arab Emirates has launched the world’s most expensive modern postage stamp to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country’s Foundation Day.

Emirates Post Group, a government-owned post office launched the first edition of the modern postage stamp with four editions. Each physical stamp in the collection comes with a digital version.

NFT trading giant, OpenSea, has launched a series of updates to help protect its users from the evil stratagem of blockchain criminals. Therefore, training its algorithm to more effectively detect suspicious NFT transfers, before consigning them to the hidden folder.

In the wake of this unwelcome behaviour, OpenSea has embarked on a mission to optimize its security protocols. Its latest update now has a built-in function that spots unsolicited material, before sending it directly to the hidden folder. In addition, an in-app banner will now notify users when this has occurred. Meanwhile, an additional filter allows users to sort between items they have hidden themselves, and those deemed as errant transfers.
