With global transactions via crypto-linked Visa cards exceeding USD1 billion in the first half of 2021, Visa recently decided to partner with 50 major cryptocurrency platforms for its FinTech Fast Track Program which is focused on making cryptocurrency more practical for consumer and business spending by creating "an ecosystem that makes cryptocurrency more usable and more like any other currency."

Among the cryptocurrency platforms that are participating in Visa's Fintech Fast Track Program are Coinbase, Blockfi, Circle and FTX.

So, what does the Program entails?
Under the Program, Visa will be leveraging its partnership with the participating cryptocurrency platforms to facilitate the conversion and spending of cryptocurrencies at 70 million merchants worldwide.

Visa users who spend fiat also stand to gain under the Program as they can earn cryptocurrencies as a reward for their fiat spending.

2021-07-27 15:00:52 What's the big news about Amazon giving cryptocurrencies its vote of approval?
An insider source has revealed that e-commerce giant Amazon is planning to integrate crypto payment with its platform by the end of 2021 starting with 8 of the most popular cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano and Bitcoin Cash.

Better still, Amazon also has plans in the pipeline to launch its own cryptocurrency by 2022. In addition to the use of crypto payment, Amazon users would be able to earn cryptocurrencies as rewards under a loyalty scheme too.

So, how did the crypto market respond to this news?
Following the breaking of the news, the trading price of Bitcoin went up by 12% to hit the USD39,000 mark whereas Ether rose by 8.7% to about USD2,300. All in all, the capitalization of the crypto market shot up by USD100 billion within 24 hour after the news came to light.

If Amazon is to issue an official confirmation, that would be the icing on the crypto cake.
